The Mastermind

Greetings and salutations! Pleased to *virtually* meet you! Juline Kerr here, from Houston, Texas! Perhaps my welcome should be “Howdy ya’ll?”
Below is a snapshot of my happenings. I certainly hope you enjoy my story!
After founding PRIVADA Global Incorporated and jumping off the hamster wheel in 2009, I decided to start a new chapter , PRIVADA Virtual Solutions, otherwise known as PVS.
PVS was inspired by a delectable bottle of Argentinean wine (discovered during my honeymoon in 2008) out of Bodega Norton’s private reserve called Privada. The name PRIVADA means “private” in Castilian Spanish. Hence, PRIVADA Virtual Solutions means,”Private Virtual Solutions.”
I am relaxed yet motivated, personable yet professional, and simple yet complicated and refined. Some would say I am an over-achiever or modern day “Doogie Howser.” Goodness, that shows my age, doesn’t it?
I have been a business owner since the age of 19, where I operated virtually as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for an import/export business. Over the years, I developed a knack for providing outstanding customer service while broadening my skills in business management, operations and administration.
Since 1999, I have been providing innovative solutions, extraordinary service, and top-notch quality products to those I do business with. I am passionate about all things business and showing micro and small business owners long-term solutions to operate more efficiently, decrease overhead, and positively impact their bottom-line. I accomplish these results by teaching business owners how to increase revenue through outsourcing certain aspects of the business, maximizing free resources, and marketing effectively via social media (to name a few).
Growing up in Houston, Texas, it’s no wonder my professional background encompasses working in the industries of oil and gas, engineering, construction, remodeling, interior design, supply chain, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing. My specialties are operating virtually, accounting and bookkeeping, process development and reengineering, change management, strategic planning, desktop publishing and web development, marketing (social media, internet and attraction) and overall business operations.
Wearing many hats in the corporate world, not only provided me with a broad set of skills, but it enabled me to be resourceful and manage the day-to-day operations with full accountability.
I have over twelve (12) years of front line and virtual experience in a variety of disciplines including:
- Business Management and Administration

- Operations Management
- Customer Service
- Finance and Accounting
- Full-Charge Bookkeeping
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Information Technology Systems
- Web Development
- Desktop Publishing and Graphic Design
If ever in a conversation with me, I invite you to ask for an elaboration on the hat stand kept in my office. Seriously, I have one hat for each aspect of my expertise and one for miscellaneous. I will amusingly admit the miscellaneous hat is my preferred choice, as the rest are too time consuming to constantly change out in an ever-evolving environment.
In addition to my wide-reaching experience, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kaplan University in 2007, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I minored in Accounting and Information Technology Systems. Throughout my studies, I was an active member with Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honorary Society where I served as Vice President of Service for two (2) consecutive years. After my service with PTK, I was accepted into Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Beta Kappa, and Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Societies.
My official certifications include:
- Certified Master Specialist with Microsoft Office (XP, 2003 and 2007)
- Certified QuickBooks Professional 2008 User
- Certified ProAdvisor with QuickBooks Professional 2009
- Notary Public commissioned with the State of Texas
After all my accomplishments while working for “the man,” I still found myself with a burning desire to pursue entrepreneurship once again. Shortly after I walked away from the corporate setting and started following my passion, I was turned onto the world of virtual assistance and online business management. Finally, I found a place where I could make vast contributions to an ever-changing world. What’s more, I discovered everything I had been doing for the last twelve years, now had two different industries with specific definitions and titles; Virtual Assistant and Online Business Manager. The first place that caught my attention was Assist University (AssistU). This is where I found my calling. Diving in with both feet, I applied to AssistU, where I was later accepted into their Virtual Training Program (VTP) in October 2009.
Now, I know in order to fully understand the world of virtual assistance, I must take baby steps into a new world and receive the best training offered in the industry. Essentially, I am taking this route to help kick off the next chapter of my career as a well-trained, highly respected virtual assistant. Upon graduation in mid 2010, I will continue to build on my newly acquired knowledge and prepare to sit for the CPVA certification (through AssistU) later in the year. Moreover, the CPVA designation is the highest certification a Virtual Assistant can receive, aside from the CMVA certification offered ONLY at AssistU.
My memberships include:
- National Bookkeepers Association
- NAWBO Houston – Committee Volunteer for Technology, Public Relations & Advertising, & Membership
- Assist University (AssistU)
- International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA)
- International Association of Online Business Managers (IAOBM)
- Texas Virtual Assistant League (TEXVAL) volunteer event calendar administrator.
- Houston Area Virtual Assistants (HAVA)
- The Virtual Assistants Networking Group
- Assistant Organizer for The Network of Business Women
I am an avid social media maven and can often found on top networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. My participation keeps me abreast of the latest developments in social media. In turn, staying “up to snuff” helps me make sound recommendations to entrepreneurs and businesses when implementing new social media strategies. I also participate on other sites such as the AssistU Community boards, VANetworking.com, Meetup.com and the International Association of Online Business Managers (IAOBM).

After surviving a bout with cancer early in life, I developed my life passion. My passion and wish is to remain a humbled and an insatiable learner, and try to make a daily difference as I attempt to save the world one person or business at a time.
Furthermore, I want to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to those who contribute themselves fully in making the world a better place to live. Often, you will find me giving back to the community through volunteer work with entities such as Habitat for Humanity, MD Anderson Cancer Center and American Cancer Society.
Loving and living life to the fullest extent possible, I thoroughly enjoy spending quality time with my beautiful husband and friends, attend musicals and theatrical performances, indulge in fine cuisines and wine, and travel abroad. My most adored trips were to Maui for eight days during humpback whale season in 2008. Absolutely awe-inspiring! Then, off to Japan a few months later, for eighteen (18) days, where my husband and I trekked from one end of the country to the other. It was truly a sensational experience!
Additionally, I take great pleasure in reading and studying motivational and enlightenment authors and speakers such as:
- Louise Hay
- Dr. Wayne Dyer
- Deepak Chopra
- Eckhart Tolle
- Jim Rohn…RIP
- Dr. Stephen R. Covey
- Byron Katie
- Cheryl Richardson
- Stephen Mitchell
- Caroline Myss………and many others.
Though I have accomplished much in a short amount of time, I am still very personable, realizing I still have a tremendous amount to learn. And I am very modest and grateful in my demeanor. It is my greatest desire to live my passion, learn without limitations, continue to grow, both personally and professionally, and make a difference in the lives of those I am so blessed to encounter.
